Hello everyone
I have been posting on a couple of subjects recently and now I want to use my own avatar.I have an image from a camera which is black and white,low res and has been cropped,all to reduce file/pixel size,limit of which I understand is 75x75 pixels or 20000k.
Still my avatar is too big(31.4k 196x235 pixels)Does anyone know a simple way to reduce this(I only have paint) as I am not good at this sort of image editing.

Paint works fine. Image->Resize/Skew
Just make sure to resize the same percentage vertically and horizontally!

What file format do you have it saved as? A gif or png-8 will probably produce the smallest file size for a small black and white picture.
I just did it using a great free program I found called"a square image".Very easy.Do yous like my silly avatar?
Hello Aidan, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I think the vacuum tube you used to model for you avatar is going bad. It seems to be frowning. This is indicative of reaching EOL status.😀 😉
Try reducing the color depth. Dropping to 256 colors (8 bits per pixel) or even 16 colors (4 bits per pixel) will usually reduce the file size. Also try .png format. They are often very small compared to .jpg files, but it seems to depend on the image content.
