Aurasound whisper power handling

Playing with a new setup, Cardioid loaded mid driver with a concentric Mid/tweet,

Pictured is the test setup that consists of a Vifa Ne265w 10" woofer that has had the dustcap removed. In the middle is a little Peerless fullrange which has had the mounting flange removed. Its only a mockup at the moment, I wanted to see what the transition angle was going to be like from the fullrange to the mid.

As it stands the fullrange is just too high, it protrudes around 10mm past the VC junction so a different driver is in order. That leads me to my main questions,**The Aurasound NSW2,*
http://www.madisound...t-2-full-range/*Size is pretty much spot on, still a little tall but its workable. My problem is sensitivity, or lack of. Madisound spec them at 3mm xmax, *84db, with a 15wrms power handling 250-15khz. That nets me at around 96db flat out, just not enough.*Im hoping the loading provided by the woofer cone will raise output by at least 3db or so but that only works in the lower end.If I highpass them at around 1200hz, will my powerhandling go up? I know the excursion requirements will decrease a lot but what about thermal? Can I expect to dump 60 watts into them at 1200hz and not cook them?Linkwitz's spl max spreadsheet says I only need less than 1.5mm xmax @ 1200hz to achieve 108db, does that seem correct?

Pics, should work this time...

Crossing them high will effectively reduce the power to them, yes. A higher order filter will also help up to a point.

With regards to sensitivity there may not be much change from a flat baffle but it may improve the power handling somewhat.

If you can horn load the Whispers, their output goes up quite a bit. I've been able to raise their output by about 10dB with a decent horn.

Due to their small size, wide bandwidth, and relatively high motor force, they're very "horn friendly."
