Audiolab 8000PX repair advice please

I have an Audiolab 8000PX that I have owned since the 90s. It has had a hard life of parties with the music loud in the 90s and quieter since 2007 and children! With the exception of toddlers deciding to turn to full volume before turning it on! Through all of this it worked well until recently until it didn't work well. Any advice on repairing it greatly appreciated!

Symptoms;

First failure - right channel worked but just a hum out of the left channel. The hum was like a turntable with the ground not plugged in. No sound at all apart from the hum. Hum did not increase or decrease with the volume control.

After some turning on and off today I now can't get sound out of either channel. I think the relay has stopped clicking in. Normally a few seconds after you turn it on the relay clicks in. It had been unused for a while.

When you turn the power off the red LED stays on for several minutes slowly fading. It may have always done that I can't remember!

I have opened the case up. No signs of burns or mark on either board or components. See pics below.

Any advice where I should start. What I should test (and how I test it), I have a multimeter, but not much knowledge beyond basic electronics.

Thanks 🙂
