Inspired by some positive comments about the Audiolab 8000A phono stage, I simulated the circuit as found in the manual on electrotanya and found a strange result.
If the circuit is correct, it has a small upper bass cut, a huge 14dB deep bass boost and a rumble filter

It would be nice to point-to the specific schematic in question.
The one I found: by inspection and by simulation, there is no 35Hz bump. This could happen if the internal amplifier had DC-blocking, but this one does not.
