i have had this amp for a while but it will cut out when played hard. it is missing some of the resistors and zener diodes that go to the out put transistors. could this be my problem and could someone tell me the values of the zeners?. also i have replaced all the fet's for the power supply and out puts.
In this amp, it's normal to have a lot of parts that haven't been installed. From what I can tell from a photo I have, there are about 10 parts that were not installed when the amp was assembled. There is one diode/resistor pair for each gate and two more (if I'm not mistaken) near the outputs (in parallel with 470k resistors).
I'm not sure why it's shutting down. I don't know if it has low voltage protection. It could be the over-current protection. These amps are sensitive to the outputs used. If the outputs are not identical to the originals, the amps can do strange things. Using the exact replacement part is no guarantee that the replacements will be identical to the originals.

perry my problem occured before and after the replacements if that helps. and it will only do it when its a real hard hit like a drum hit it rarely does it from a constant bass
Without monitoring the output of the comparator being used for over-current protection, it would be difficult to know which part of the circuit is causing it to shut down. Unless it happens often it probably wouldn't be worth the trouble to modify the protection circuit.
If it won't hurt the sound quality, setting the crossover to a slightly lower frequency may help.
