Hi
I think I need a new audio interface.
I no longer trust my Steinberg UR22.
Somehow it shows unusual results during the measurement.
Now I have discovered the Zoom UAC-232 with 32 bit float.
It has no controls for the inputs.
This is a great no brainer for REW right?
This means that the loopback and the mic input are always at the same level.
And I no longer need to calibrate for impedance measurements, if I'm not mistaken 🤔
Only the headphone output is not very low impedance?
Could this be a problem with impedance measurements?
Is the interface too exaggerated for REW which one would you recommend?
Does the 32-bit float work with REW?

My Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has been reliable for years. I use power amp outputs for impedance measurements to keep the noise floor as low as possible.
I would like to have something where both inputs can be controlled simultaneously.
Is that possible with the 2i2?
Is that possible with the 2i2?
If you get the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, I suggest getting the 3rd generation instead of the 4th. The 4th has issues with high THD when used with single-ended sources. Focusrite is aware and is working to address it. You can read here: https://neurochrome.com/pages/measuring-distortion-on-the-cheap

Good to know about the output on the Gen 4 version.
I bought the MOTU M2 second-hand.
Seems to be a good device.
thanks

I use the Behringer UCA222 which is probably the same. I built a 10 / 20 attentuator for the input to measure my amps.Hi

May output is 1.25v RMS (calibrated with a True RMS meter and Tektronix digital scope) BUT I cannot seem to calibrate the input to match. No matter what I set the output at, the input is always shown by REW to be 1.1db lower.
Adjusting the mic cal makes no difference so I must be doing something wrong.
Have you tried checking the Secondary Output box in the ASIO Service settings? Try checking the second output and play around with the secondary output settings. Maybe it will help
I don't have the option of choosing an Asio driver.Have you tried checking the Secondary Output box in the ASIO Service settings? Try checking the second output and play around with the secondary output settings. Maybe it will help
i have narrowed the difference to -0.9db.
I thought it may be related to the max input the UAC can handle being at bit less than it's output at 1.16v but I still can't get REW to read the same input to output with a loopback cable.

it has been pointed out in other threads that those small behringers are troublesome - avoid
ASIO is the only driver that works for me without any problems.
I could never really level the inputs until I checked the box.

It's never been troublesome, it's just the error in the calibration, which is not a big problem but would be good to know why.t has been pointed out in other threads that those small behringers are troublesome - avoid
I tried Asio4all but this was even worse and also the input readings jumped about all over the place.ASIO is the only driver that works for me without any problems.

NOW SORTED.
I had to adjust the mic cal to 0.117v higher than the output. Now the bar graphs and charts match.

Try a motu m4, you'll have a hard time going back to interfaces without nice metering though if you get one.
Set the sample rate and bit depth to the maximum, anything Steinberg offers. Then it usually works.I tried Asio4all but this was even worse and also the input readings jumped about all over the place.
Or get the Motu which is also better 🙂
