Audax Full range drivers frequency response

I found an interesting page about lowther shout:
Lowther no shout | pink fish media
It says:
"It's because there's a short paper cylinder connecting the voice coil to the cone, and resonances between one end of the paper and the other are not damped. This is cured by the A series and DX and EX with Alnico or Neodimium magnets. It's not the magnet that cures the shout but the longer length of paper cylinder connecting the two units and this provides enough disconnexion to interrupt any travelling waves."
I couldn't find the pdf file but KEF also makes a similar thing with their last coaxial drivers..
I applied some kind of shellac to apex connection point of my driver(from front side not back side) , somehow it cures the some kind of treble" "haze/noise".
Maybe this kind of peaks in the 1 to 8khz, excite/provoke this noises/distortions. It can be main reason we don't like peaks..
