Attenuater's who needs them! Help to bypass for better sound

Well Bazza, loose connections would be the first thing any self-respecting loudspeaker restorer would look for.

But you don't have a :cuss: multimeter to test for continuity, have you!

I beg you to go and buy one asap and make things easier for all of us in future. 😍

P.S. Don't omit to replace those ageing electrolytic capacitors, when I won't feel that my input has been entirely wasted.
I hear you, it's on the shopping list along with other caps and wires and all the speakers, amplifiers I have to respectfully bring to a healthy life and future

The speakers finished, and my hi tech work bench!

Thay sound very nice TBH, mid and high full of detail and bass is more dense than before when it was booming. On stands the better. May have to bring them down from upstairs

Thanks Galu,
I got a few speakers and amplifiers to bring upto date so I'm gonna order everything at once. Looking forward to getting stuck in!
One thing though it's made me realise how BAD my speakers are sounding. I've gotten used there sound, compared to the Akai thay sound dull and lacking so much detail. Shameful really, thay deserve a great deal more.

2×TL's(transmission line), Mission 770,720. Plan is to "refresh" with new internal rewiring, recapping and fresh coating external.

I baught them inishally to compliment my Mono Pioneer with Akai's either side.
I have not removed the crossover in the Pioneer (deviding network). They sound great!! It'll be another thread for that...
The picture shows Pioneer upside down

Properly filtered, these would shine alright.
Btw, if you wish to clean contacts of an attenuator, there is a way to do it with the help of a
fiberglass pen. It will remove physically any dirt you may find there, plus you will be able
to visually evaluate the surface condition.

Lojzek, honestly I'm not a fan of attenuater's I prefer more of a direct path to my speakers. I see how some may like/need the option for them but like equalizer'ers and other types of attenuater's sound becomes uneven.
Just my opinion
