Carlos, your last 2 posts are giving me a stomach ache from laughter,
this place would truly be dull without you.

I have heard sharks are very fearful of oscopes, and sine wave generators.....

BTW a good comedian, always has a sidekick that is not so well appreciated...........

I never did get to that part of Brasil. As much as I enjoyed Campinas-SP, I wished I had gotten to spend some time at the beach in RdJ.

Sadly the company must have gotten wind of how much fun we were having and they called us back.

Oh!...i am sorry tlf9999, my kiddings have not bad intention, the same as your posts

All them very nice and friendly.

Yeah!...i apologize, as i love you very much.

And i will not post "this" image anymore.

regards,

Carlos

Raj1, eLarson, BQ40403 and Elso Kwak... Dx Sharks are the good ones

They do not eat our real diy forum guys.

Thank you by the support....hello Mongo, hi Elso...

Also Raj and eLarson are good guys.

Kwack..... pretty girl, your avatar image... are you lucky this way?...is this brownie suggar in your life?, the lovely woman?... this can explain your good mood!

Carlos

Now testing another amplifier, received from a Turkey friend...hehe.

People is always trying to copy AKSA...let's see how this one will sound..... UKSUR is the name i gave it....the guys coppied including the hugh voltage posts..... but the board is worst, has no silk screen and circuit inside is different.

Circuit is different too...but clearly "inspired" in Hugh amplifier.

The guy asked to be unknown, he did not born in Turkey.

Sorry, but he may protect his copywrong rights.

regards,

Carlos

Sorry Egon, but the UKSUR is presenting too much bias...i have to check it once more.

As UKSUR not working, i decide to test one of my modified AKSAs compared with standard, original Hugh design.

Yes, i could find a stronger bass, perceptually only, because the power continue to be 52 watts rms over 8 ohms and sinusoidal 20 hertz.... wave shape at 60 kilohertz is triangle in my unit.

I could perceive it loose it AKSA identity related the especial brigth in high frequency reproduction, but also could perceive more bass.... this seems very obvious...loosing one you will have bigger other ....but things not so simple that way.

In the presence of more clear brigh, you may feel that the amplifier will need more bass,..... this is something alike the main figure in some picture related its bottom image...depending one each other...the ratio.

But i evaluate bass with bass...and treble with treble....the modified AKSA and the original AKSA....and i could perceptually have increase in bass.... and also.... decrease in highs.

My circuit is not authorized by Hugh....modifications have not his signature...so.... do them if you want them, but Hugh will not take responsability of the results.

Modifications i made...without describe circuit:

- Electrolitics was changed to 220uF...except the bootstrap one and the input...those were wonderfull black gates with 22uf.

- Emitter resistor keept at 0.33 ohms.

- that one that has one of it's side connected to feedback transistor may be 5pf..... and Silver Mica...use in series...two in series to reduce value.

- C1 is 47k

- For VAS, the transistor to-220 2SC2078 (only 30 Megahertz)

- Resistor R7....add more 30K to the original transistor.

- Zobel filter...reduce resistor to 4,7 ohms

- Install 1K in series with input

- Remove the stop resistors used in the output...jumper on them!

- Double the coil turns, and install those turns over a 1 watt, 4,7 ohms resistor....not a coiled unit...superimpose turns if needed, use wire with 0.7 milimeters diameter...prefered the red ones used in Video tape coils.

- Install matched in gain, BD139 and BD140 and attach it firmly into heatsink...i have soldered them over copper foil... the position is to work as drivers.

- Output use are Sanken....2SC2922 and 2SA1215... they work cold....drivers cold too.... Vas is the only one that warms a little bit.

- Bias used was 35 miliamps...off set measured was 12 milivolts over 8 ohms load.

- BC545C was used for differential...gain measured and matched of 350.

- Check fuses for zero ohm measurement.

- Supply was keept stable using voltage stabilization.... 37.5 Volts each rail.

the unit is more adequated to bass...but produce the highs the big majority amplifiers can produce...not the exceptional treble as the standard AKSA.

This modification i done by myself, and i cannot guarantee your satisfaction, because the designer did not examined the amplifier already...so...his support is some interrogation mark...also, i suppose, his guarantee will be lost if modified.

regards,

Carlos

I will publish some data sheets, as some friends are construction amplifiers that

May use this transistor....as Dimitri from Greece for instance.

And, those are the transistors used in this Aksa i made, modified to have more bass impact.... perceptually increased bass.... the voltage is the same voltage produced in the original Aksa....oh!..people that love numbers are now crazy to explode me!

Boooom in this guy!!!!

Yeah!.... same voltage is same power.... cannot be stronger!!!

Check those things again guys.... better to check.... those things are not this way...very simple...same voltage, same load...mathematically same sound pressure...really?

Well...steady tone... 40 hertz... same level..switching from A to B result different...absurd!!!..this one is re-inventing electronics.... yeah!... stone on him..... try it first..... once more please!

Speaker is very complex load....and amplifier matching is a need... yeah...there are measurable standing waves....mismatch related phase from voltage related current..... one delayed related other...crazy those things isnt'it?.... check it.....once more!

Please!... before push the trigger...make some real experiences...hehe.... life is wonderfull, and there are magic and misteries too....ahahahaha!

here is the transistors used...their data sheets.

Carlos

Well, this one is "hard to kill" unit...worst in sonics related 2SC5200 but strong!

That old famous Toshiba pair.... not remembering numbers now, are also better in sonics.

Last year i did not believe that transistors sound different...but some people told me and i enter into research changing parts.

I was wrong.... yes...they make differences!... also capacitors does!.

Carlos
