It seemed expedient when I was testing and breaking-in my new (and cheap) drivers to attach them (by magnetism) to steel mike stands. After running the drivers through their paces for a couple of days, I noticed that the steel stands had become magnetic.
It may be too early to tell, but I did not notice any deterioration in the speaker's quality (which, as expected, improved by the breaking-in) or output (I confess I don't have the best SPL meter, my ears aren't what they used to be).
Just curious: Is this a no-no? On the other hand, I recall a post where someone mentioned attaching additional magnets to a driver...
Googling this didn't get me far, so I'm looking for ideas on what this implies.
