Assistance with rackmount please

I've just bought a cheap S/H rack mount cupboard.
This is for my garage and big party system.
I'd like to keep my options open and use the bigger 3-Way crossover and all 3 of the amps I have and sometime in the near future I hope to build some new speakers to use all that capability. I've got a dedicated 15A circuit for power but I want to bring the power directly to the rack box.
I just bought a 15A plug and some 2.5mm Cable and I am after advice on the best placement for the power board I am going to assemble.
How far down and how far in?
If I leave one space at the top for airflow will that be sufficient?
Should I inset the powerboard enough to allow the rack to sit close to the wall or should I make the sockets close to flush with the edges?
I haven't been able to physically inspect a dedicated rack mount PS strip or seen any dimensions on the web so I just need to know [ sort of] what is "normal".
All pretty old gear but still usable for home.
Looking at putting the CD player in the rack too so wondering where and how I should place that tiny mixer and also wheels question, will ordinary castor wheels work OK if I screw a bit of plywood to the case base?

In my industry we'd run a vertical power strip up one side of the rack. All the signal cables ran up the other side. Look at your gear to see which side makes the most sense. Get the power away from the signal cables as soon as possible. We'd also use really short IEC power cables so the power leads didn’t need to be wrapped/coiled up.
