i was wondering if it's possible to project a 16:9 ratio image (rectangular) if i make a a screen to fit that ratio. Or are all pojected images 4:3 and we need need 4:3 screens?
There are 3 ways of doing this. I will go through each.
1) Just project it on the screen, with black borders above and below the screen (depending on the lcd u shouldnt be able to see the black borders, one of the advantages of single lcd systems)
2) Buy a 16:9 lcd. But this is very expensive. Better off buying a projector.
3) Build an anamorphic lens. Look for the thread on this.
Btw, please search the forum and research a little before posting new threads. We aren't being rude, but it gets very tedious when people ask about something when the answer is easily found. Don't worry about it much though, many people do this, just search next time. People on this forum are quite willing to provide help not only to each other but to newbies, but they are not so willing to answer the reanswered. Good luck.

thanks for replying. I will search more in the future as many will have noticed from my previous posts, i ask 'silly' questions. the problem is when a search and read the posts, i come across new technical words and become more confused. but it's been great help and i appreciate it.
no problem. but i do agree, many words used are too technical for the average user. Perhaps someone (obviously less lazy than I) should make a glossary.
