There's another important reason to attach a screen shot of the schematic instead of the .asc. 9-out of 10 the .asc contains parts that are not in the regular user lib so when you open it in LTspice it doesn't run and shows missing parts anyway. Nobody takes the trouble to include required non-standard models in their .asc. I generally don't even take the trouble to open an attached .asc, I just wait for someone to post the schematic.
As Tom C said, it's all about communication. If you want to share your latest invention, you must make sure the message comes across.
Otherwise you waste your own and other's time.

If you have no use for simulations, then please just ignore posts that include them. You are not the intended audience. No one expects you to learn SPICE or participate. I confess that on some posts, I deliberately do not post an image file, in an effort to restrict the audience.
Very generous sentiments!
If privacy is so important to you I suggest that you form a group so that you can luxuriate privately with like minded souls.

And I will openly admit that I rarely help those who can't be bothered to post a schematic as an image. Just as I rarely buy from stores that require me to set up an account just to see the shipping charges. Friction is a thing.I deliberately do not post an image file, in an effort to restrict the audience.
