May be an ironic consequence of using a "safer" voltage? You wouldn't be able to do that with UK plugs.
Those Schuko sockets and plugs are great, used in most civilized countries more focused on safety than scoffing at their neighbours.

I think this has got to be less dangerous than the hair spray blow torches I remember seeing people play with in school.
Or how about the trick where you hold a lit cigarette lighter upside down until the plastic gets melty, and then throw it so it hits the ground and explodes into a big ball of flame when all the butane burns at once... no I didn't do that, but I saw people do it. It always surprised me that nobody ever burned their hand or worse.
Of course, nobody was making videos in the early 90s when I was a youth, so all this stupidity is somewhat lost to time.
As for the Schuko countries being more civilized, I'd call those fighting words 😉

There are otherly gaseous emanations which were lit -- like after drinking several beers.
GenZ has less fun as they can get stoned, but not drunk.
Yet again, some annoying idiot snot has to re-invent something that was perfectly fine for "generations".
The terms "Elders" - "Seniors" - "Teenagers" - "Youngsters" - "Tots" - "Children" - "Infants".....
Two different things there wot.
Every person can be all of the age descriptors you offered but can only belong to one generation.
Not annoying idiot snot at all. Just a grumpy wiseoldtech not paying attention to the difference.
As for the Schuko countries being more civilized, I'd call those fighting words 😉
Canada is ofcourse excempt from this statement.
Perhaps I was baiting?
Weren't you young once Osvaldo? 😉I can't believe that the level of stupidity between young people could go so far.
Going back to around the age of 10, I had a very inquisitive pal who was up for anything.
He used to stick the wires from one side of salvaged transformers into the mains outlet to see what sparks and bangs he could draw from the other side.
I wasn't nearly as adventurous, so stood well back and simply enjoyed the spectacle!
Surprisingly, no children or house electrics were harmed in this elementary pursuit of electrical knowledge. 🙂
My experience is that the "Youngers" are far more careful and conservative than us Boomers. We made rocket engines from scratch, played with gasoline and gunpowder as toys. Played on the train tracks. What is a bike helmet? The class before mine welded the metal shop classroom door shut from the inside with the class in there. The dumb kid in my electronics class put a paperclip in an outlet in the class lab to test what he misunderstood about the days lecture. We enjoyed the total lack of cameras everywhere and glacially slow and unreliable information flow. So kids could do pretty much whatever and deny deny deny. We have no idea who blew up that mailbox or TP'd the lawn because there was no Ring doorbell camera pointed at it 24/7. Ha
The dumbest point in my life is when I started getting googly eyes for the girls. How many dumb things I did thinking it would impress them? How dumb that was. Only took another 20 years or so to smarten up.
Canada is ofcourse excempt from this statement.

On the other hand, you don't have to wait as long for water to boil in an electric kettle, so maybe 230V countries know something after all!
OK boomer
I thought he needed additional bass traps

I think 'hold my beer and watch this' has been common across generations. Boys of a certain age do rediculous things. Same every generation, just the internet age means you hear about it.
Its mostly young boys trying to show off and make out they are the bravest man. Typical tribal/pack behaviour.
I guess you haven't seen 'chairgirl' or 'cranegirl' in Toronto. I don't think its generally gender driven, more looking for the 'likes' on whichever social media site they prefer
I have always assumed that the dumb and risky stuff teens did/do was evolution at work, weeding out those from the gene pool whose risk quotient was too high to waste resources on.
Around where I am, that's called meme culture.I guess you haven't seen 'chairgirl' or 'cranegirl' in Toronto. I don't think its generally gender driven, more looking for the 'likes' on whichever social media site they prefer
Only if I had a police motorbike tailing me as they are/were not allowed to ram or kick the moped/driver by law if not wearing a helmet; the driver would not be well protected against a fall.In my young days, youth did absolutely stupid things as well. Like driving a simple tuned scooter, meant for 30-40 Km/h, at 90-100Km/h without a helmet or decently protective clothing.
.........

Only had a few problems with the police as I drove pretty responsible. (max 35.000km in 1 year) I outran attackers on tuned mopeds who wanted to steal my moped scooter twice because of being so absolutely stupid to not comply with the law.
But that is stupid nowadays as there is electric....😀

Apparantly I am supposed to be a heavy facebook user. Never even had an account.
Make a deliberate short circuit at the outlets is not a joke.
According to my mom, my interest in electronics started when the paper clip met the wall outlet at age 4.
Lets just say that I blackened more than a few outlets in my high school. Aluminum foil, kites, and power lines made for some afternoon fun too...…
Looking back, yeah stupid, but so was outrunning the cops at 140 MPH. When you are 17 years old you are invincible.....then a couple of your friends wind up dead due to stupid behavior, and you wise up a bit.
