Are you using an XDP-210EQ or XDP-4000X?

Old School

I am still using a XDP-210EQ...

I am also running a XR-C900 (yeah don't ask me why I bought it in 1996, I thought tapes were still "in"), and a CDX-858 (whatever the 10disc optical out changer is numbered, I don't see it much its in the boot).

Lately I've had a problem with the head unit powering off suddenly and a second later powering back up and the cd keeps playing where it let off. It seems to be the louder I play it the more often it happens. However when parked with the car off I can bring it up to concert level volumes and it is fine, and other random times it isn't. I have a 2 farad cap feeding to the amps so I don't think it is a voltage drop causing the problem, my next thought would be vibration. I've got the 210 apart in my lap right now, can't visually see or hear anything loose.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try and reset it using the test mode. And then pull it out and start checking IC's. I've removed the changer from the equation as it happens when the changer is disconnected completely.
