Let's see, in 1974 I was 17. I'd see things like the girl on school bus with the album with that all color guy stuffing an ice cream cone into his head. I assure you, I didnt know what that meant at the time. Also Jerry's 1st album cover, wondering what it could possibly be, (NGC 205) in a stack of records left by my friend's older brother.
Took me another 50 years to get to where I can actually play a couple Jerry tunes from that era. If I was smart, I would have been playing them then. Sadly, I tossed the idea of ever playing guitar when it was presented to me in my early teens.

The most “real” sounding CDs or cassette tapes I have are Grateful Dead audience tapes. Cannot beat with stick.
There is a very good Jerry Moore audience recording of the wall of sound from Homestead Florida in June of 1974. I like the matrix shows as well. Sound boards can be a bit flat.
You have to admire how there's fame among the tapers. I remember back in the early 90s this fellow showing me his new DAT portable, which he bought for taping Dead shows. He was so happy and proud to have that. There is a very good Jerry Moore
Now if Taylor had a brain, she'd throw open that door especially at the international shows. Popularity I assume would soar even further than it already is, if that's possible and would probably payback 10X over time.
Well Jerry Moore had to sneak his recording equipment into that venue the night before and hide it or so the tale goes. Seems only the Dead caused fans to go to great lengths to tape shows.
I didn't really start listening to the Dead until I bought a streamer about three years ago. Discovered the Jam Band station on Amazon Music and have gained a whole new appreciation for them.
I spent an entire Covid stimulus check on Grateful Dead live cassettes. Was that wrong? Maxell type II, always on lookout for audience cassettes and CDs made from GD soundboards.
You could be holding a Go-Gos CD and the mushroom tats would still give you away.Ya think?
Learned to play Jack Straw on guitar. Passable, performed one time. Like this -
Hitting a solid F#sus7 is hard at the start of Bob's part of the chorus. Miss it every time. Doing the chromatic barre shuffle from G down to E is hard for me. I at least set myself up to possibly do it by playing that G as a barre. The quick Bm-Cm-C#m shuffle in Brown Eyed Women is hard too. I guess I'm a DH for trying -

The tat is more of acknowledgement of our Pagan roots than the Dead, though it certainly harmonizes. I did not have the discipline to learn an instrument, so very good on you!
