Are there any small TH designs?

Thanks for that Andrew. I will look at changing the parameters of the 38hz TH design to suit my needs and see what it looks like. That design may work prefect for me if the simulation prove alright.

If not I will have to learn how to fold a shorten version of the T-6 or stretch Arts design. Still waiting to here back from tsolms and his 8" design also.

Bjorno I cant really read the attachment because it is so small. And I am on a 40" LCD.

Thanks Andrew. I dont know how I didnt see that before.

Looks like the Faital can make some noise for sure. About 120db from 43hz and up.

Am I limited to 45hz with an 8" to keep it in the 3-4cft total range?

Or do I need to select a certain driver for performance in smaller horns?

I think Arts was 50hz and because of that was a tiny TH.

Trying to see if I can find 35hz 115db with an 8".

Bjorno how much bigger did you design need to be with a horn that was slightly longer and needed a 40hz Hpass?

The lower frequency you go the higher the Xmax that gets used at a particular power output.

A) If your Xmax is not enormous, what you can do is lower the roll-off and adjust the power input so that Xmax is not exceeded.

What results is less SPL at your chosen roll-off.

Or you can go for lot's of LF extension and then add a 1pole or 2pole more poles high pass filter to ensure the signal applied at VLF is less than the upper bass and thus you don't use up your limited Xmax.
This last probably suits disco music type reproduction in that it gives the most "bang" for the Xmax available.

Para A may suit bass enhancement of domestic HiFi and sound tracks on movies. The LF effects are there, quietly going on in the background, adding to realism, but not high SPL.
This would also suit multiple bass speakers spread around the room. The Xmax of each contributing towards the total SPL at the listener.

axI keep playing with Hornresp and LilMike's T-6. I liked Bjorno's Faital simulation also but the JBLGTO1014 10" is here for less money so I am trying to see what I can do with it. More like moving sliders with someone else's design and seeing if I can make it fit.

So far its 93liters. Not sure if that will fit when actually built. 3.2cuft sounds like it would fit but I haven't a clue.

I just took the T-6 and made the dimensions for the JBL 10". They are slightly smaller internals then the standard driver LilMike used. Then just moved some sliders to have similar response and 40hz before drop off. Seem to work. Anything wrong with this so far response wise?

This is maximum voltage to hit Xmax before Hpass/low pass
