Are there any modern 8" drivers suited for sealed boxes? Is QTS still a key parameter?

I'm just sketching out a 3-way box like the ATC SCM40.

Are there any current 8" drivers out there that could do well sealed, and is a min QTS value still a key criterion for the same?

Woofers i am not so sure of, would benice to know about some. SEAS FA22 works nicely sealed. But for your ap you’d likely want to trim the whizzer off and add a phase plug.

I have not found such a midWoofer since the SDX7. SEAS A26 works sealed, but it is a 10”.

Have a look at the SB WO24P, it’s badged as a 9.5” but it’s SD is only 255sq.cm so is close to many 8”. Works well in a 35-40l sealed box. Javad Shadzi and Jeff Bagby also did a twin woofer sealed speaker called the Ceramicos which has two SB23CAC-8 in a 2cuft (56l) box.

I am just about to start a build with the WO24P-4 in a 40l box, initially sealed, with the Morel EM1308 dome mid and ET448 tweeter.

Wavecor WF223, especially in 8 ohm variant. Any woofer can work sealed but basically yes, its the Qts that determines bass extension in such a box.

Eminence Alpha-8a has Qt .59, Vas 17.17 L Fx 73 hz. They say useable 58 hz-5 khz. spl 94 db 1w1m impedance 8 ohms 125 W pink noise

Is the suggestion Fs/Qes= closer to 50 for closed and closer to 100 for vented still valid?
I have used it as well to pick those I test in WinISD or VituixCAD.

I'm using 2x Seas H1252-08 per side in sealed boxes. They work about as well as an 8" midbass in a sealed box can work. The cone breakup mandates work in the crossover, or IIRC there's a paper-coned version.

What f3 are you seeking ?

Ideally qts above .4, maybe fs closer to 30hz.

8" subwoofer territory, now efficiency drops.
The rs210 above, qts=.57, fs=30hz, but now 85.6db with 2.83v.............
