I agree, even if Total-gate-charge and Input-capacitance on RFP50N06 are double compared to P55N06
Since the clock of a sub-channel of a d-class is usually around 150-200 kHz, I also would say probably it can go, but it depends on the schematic

I'd use the IRF3205 with 47 ohm gate resistors in that amp, assuming that it's like virtually all other modern Hifonics amps.
The driver transistors commonly fail and they often burn the ground trace on the PNP drivers.
The drain pad/traces for the PS FETs sometimes burn and it's difficult to see. Clean up the pads and examine them carefully.
