Thanks !!
Hi
I don't want to start a new thread so pardon.
I have old Arcam delta 290 Power amp.
I do not use it currently and was planning to sell, but I have an idea of tweaking it a bit with newer parts and see if any change to the sound occurred.
Can I ask members of this forum is there any particular component upgrade or swap for new one would bring benefit of improved sound ?
I have attached service manual and few pictures (big) @ dropbox .

replace the 2 big capacitors with 12000mf 63v will give more power and better bass , i didnt do anything else
should bring some improvement , i use mine as mid-bass amp only (85-800hz) and i´m satisfied thats why i didnt go any further .
As I can't see the schematic I'm shooting off the hip a bit here.
Most of the Arcams were Class A/B Mos-Fet designs with single complimentary P-Type + N-Type outputs.
These can generally be improved upon by 1). Increasing the solidity of the PSU which has been discussed above and 2). Doubling up the output devices which improves the damping factor and the output impedance.

you can always replace the ne5332 opamps but dont expect major improvement
Just check where they are in the circuit. If they are only in the servo loop you won't hear any improvement.
You could download the manual directly with a lot less messing about than needed to use "Pop-up box".

OK... What are these devices exactly and erm... Where are they ?

To be honest, don't touch.
If you must do anything, renew the power supply capacitors, and perhaps all of the electrolytic capacitors. Leave the rest alone
