I recently brought a 2nd hand Arcam CD92 player, but its laser had died. So I opened it up and saw a KSS240A laser, borught a new one and it worked.
I read this guide on a guy restoring a Arcam CD92
http://www.condoraudio.com/wp-content/uploads/Projects/Arcam-CD92-CD-HDCD-Player-Restoration-Repair.pdf
And he states that the CD92 would of come with a KSS213C laser. So I ordered one and today I find the ribbon connection the the 213C is wider than the 240C.
Am I missing something here, or is the guide wrong?
Thanks

Maybe there are different versions of the player mk1 mk2 etc. If yours has a KSS240 then that is the only pickup that will work. The KSS240 has the RF amplifier and other electronics mounted on the pickup rather than on the main PCB.
