Arcam Alpha 5 Plus CD player

I have just received a Arcam Alpha 5 Plus CD player, which needed a new CD drawer pulley gear (common fault all the teeth had broken off).

When I open the drawer and it reaches the fully open point the drive motor still runs for a second longer, is this normal?

When fully closed motor stops imediately.

Found answer on another forum - it is a normal function of the player.

I've found it does it more with a belt that is a little too slack and less with a belt that grips better. The standard belts you get with the cog kits are usually terrible quality.

Either way it's clearly a design fault as the front micro switch should stop the motor.
