I have just moved from Taiwan to that big country just across the water to what will in all likelihood be my last stint in Asia. Everything went nice and smoothly until it came to my two 'scopes. They are not allowed into that country because the authorities have deemed them 'not for personal use'. I can pay import duty and get a special certificate, but then have to hand carry them out within six months or face possible confiscation when I eventually leave. Naturally, they will just go into storage somewhere (not in the big country of course), and when I go back to my home country, I will retrieve them.

I'd just thought I'd share with you my tale of 'arbitrary authoritarianism'

😕

Funny thing is on my last visit it seemed like everyone was using the scopes and lab supplies that you can buy on ebay for a song. BTW we got the design in, 10M cell phones with "hi-end" audio.
