I'm finding that I really need a better view of what the crossovers are doing. Can someone recommend a simple free/cheap software that I could use?
Also something has been bugging me. I want to use wide baffles. Seems like that will be fine but my other desire is to keep the depth pretty small. I notice that almost all the designs I see are deeper than they are wide. Why is this? I know a lot of people just like narrow/deep speakers. Is that all there is to it?

Reflection off the back of the box can get thru the cone, also shallow boxes seem to emphasise the mid bass, stuffing helps here, the deeper the box the easier it is to absorb these relections with damping material

Volume per se has no bearing on minimum depth and no real downside to shallow depth comes to mine until at some point it begins to alter the driver's loading based on the cab's width. If you start with a CSA that's several times its Sd though, you can make it as shallow as the driver's mounted depth and if it has a rear VC vent, then either leave some breathing room of at least one diameter or make sure you do a good job of gasketing the driver/back wall vent hole as well as leaving the same minimum spacing to the rear wall if applicable.

Ive decided to go with a single 12".

It looks in WinIsd that the performance of one of these is quite similar to the two 10"ers in a little smaller box volume. I think the extra couple of DB over my mid will take care of BSC. It also seems likely to simplify the final build.
I will try a series Xover at roughly 250 and 3700. When I use the Excel sheet off of Andy G's site (thank you!) and look for common parts of similar values, I get these L4- .33mh, C4- 5.6uf, L5- 5mh, C5- 82uf.
