For me, with over 30 years Hi end headphone experience, this put apple in my head from heaven to the hell.

It's all about the revenue numbers I think, and gee but considering the type of music with which most Beats customers will be inclined to abuse themselves, does the sonic quality of the fashion accessory matter all that much?
Not every Apple product has been insanely cool
I've listened to / owned at least a dozen different types of headphones over a period of 50yrs, but ultimately I've just never been a fan of the "canned" experience - the only place I'll use them now is on airplane flight.

yes, I also think It's all about the revenue numbers. But apple spirit is not revenue, it's hard to believe it buy a fashion accessory and sell it as it's own product.
The original Apple should start the fashion but not buy and sell others, it's very disappointed.
Airplane is a very noise environment, it's hard to heard well even with a good headphone. The same speaker can perform very different in different room, it's very time consume to tune. One more furniture or one more person in the same room can change the listening performance greatly. Mostly, I like to use headphone in most time.
