For last couple of weeks, I have been trying to find a speaker as my first DIY project which is simpler enough for me to build. I am mainly looking for a pair of bookshelf. I have found Seas Embla is perfect for me since it has very simple crossover(2nd order at 3k Hz) and relatively low priced drivers.

I searched this forum and it was at Northwest DIY so I am asking anyone who were at the Northwest DIY for their opinions. In case you don't remember what it is, this is the picture of Embla from Northwest DIY thread.

Well, I was there and I was pretty impressed. I am currently trying to decide whether I should build a pair myself. I have limited time, money, and space so I don't know if I will or not.

Anyways, I am not one of those people who describe speakers with words like "fiberous" and "compelling", but I will say they sounded pretty damn good. I think Duane (the guy who built the NWDIY pair) changed the XO freq and box tuning slightly.(I don't know why he did that)

If you decide to go for it, Parts Express has the tweeter for about half the price of any other retailer, $13.88usd.
