Title says it all...Anyone tried this? Would be nice if I could have the computer used for crossovers, dsp, and audio files in one place and stream the audio to the dac8 which takes usb input....Let me know if you have tried this...Thanks.
You could stream multichannel audio from computer 1 to computer 2 over WiFi, with computer 2 connected to the DAC via USB. Computer 2 does not need to be something expensive, but you will want a very strong and robust WiFi signal between the two. Use RTP streaming. FFmpeg can do that, for example. What OSes are involved here?
For Windows, there is a great software called Voicemeeter that includes a proprietary UDP data transfer format called VBAN. This can be used to send up to 8 channels of 24 bit audio from one Windows computer to another when they are both running the VBAN software.
I took a quick look at the UB WiFi bridge. This looks like a WiFi access point with a USB connector. That would not function the same way as a USB audio appliance.

I am a mac user. I was hoping to just use a wifi-usb bridge to just send via wifi the audio signal from the computer to the usb bridge and into the dac. I thought that was the purpose of a wifi-usb bridge but worried the bandwidth for 8 audio channels might be too much. yeah, maybe just send the signal via wifi from one mac desktop to a dedicated mac mini connected via usb to the dac. Thanks.

Doesn't work well on WI-FI...
Thanks for the info. UDP (basically the same as VBAN) is not a great way to send audio data, honestly.Doesn't work well on WI-FI...
