BREAKING NEWS - modded CD63 running flawlessly with a new servo driver IC. Brent thinks the faulty Audiocom clock monged the servo section completely. Sod's law meant it could only be working AFTER the event! 
Simon, just keep it that way for next year. Replace all the screws with anti-tamper fittings so you're not tempted to play with it anymore. 🙂
