Anyone tried these inductors?

blank,

I´ve looked at them for my upcoming Aleph-X but think they´ve got a bit too much dc-resistance (0.24R), are a bit too big and probably a waiste of money for a Pi-filter. (2.2mH)

After a bit of searching I think I´ll buy some "torobar" chokes (also from Intertechnik) wich have much lower dc-resistance (0.12), a saturation current of almost 11A, are a lot smaller and only cost a fraction of the tritecs.

Hi william,
the Torobar chokes have a lower dc-resistance as 0.12, dont they?
Have a look

Or am i wrong?

Hi,

For my AlephX-200 I want to use this schematic.

http://web.vip.hr/pcb-design.vip/power-2.html

Of course the values in the schematic are not correct for a AlephX so here are the values that I am going to use:

Voltage rails: +31V/-31V
Bias current: 8A
Capacitors: 8x47000uF
coils: 3.9mH

For the choise of the 3.9mH coils I looked at the torobars and the tritecs. The torobars are cheaper and have a lower resistance but the only thing that worries me is the saturation current. According to the specs. the torobars have a saturation current of 11.5 amps. According to the specs. the tritecs don't have a saturation current.

How important is the saturation current for coils when using them for a psu? And can I use the torobar coils for my psu?
