XXLS is rather new driver and not so many has used it. But, the XXLS is mentioned in several threads lately and I wounder if anyone here actually bought any of those drivers yet ?

I am mostly interested in the 830845, a 12" driver for sealed box application, which I hope could be suitable for Music with XO under 100Hz.
Any opinions, or experience with XXLS is appreciated
As example, does anyone have any idea why Peerless suggests so small sealed box (62Ltr) for the 830845? Please refer to Peerless "Appplication Note" which you can find in the Link above.

hi there.... my first post in what seems a really exciting forum
the XXLS is just an update to the XLS series.... with lighter moving mass and higher resonance frequency....
also it should be harder for the XXLS to hit the back of the voicecoil gap as it's been made deeper....
i was in doubt about choosing between the XLS and XXLS.... but as i know that the XLS sounds absolutely wonderful i'm sticking with that....
the thing that put me off is that DST said that they did some further development in cooporation with some pro studio guys..... and being one for years i know that mix engineers in general know absolutely NOTHING about speakers!....
and when the word "genelec" came into our talk.....
but i will listen to the XXLS as soon as DST supplies some to the shop where i shop...
with regards to the cabinets i'm building them as sealed enclosures with a volume equivalent to the Vas..... it's that simple..... (86.7 litres in your case).... sounds sooooo tight.... i'll never build a vented box in my life.... 😀

Hmm, suddenly several XXLS threads coming up... good !
Hello iz,
Please report your findings when you have tested the XXLS. I am very interested indeed to hear your opinions, especially since you can compare to the XLS.
I think it is really interesting that Peerless developed a subwoofer driver that are specially suited for sealed enclosure. I still can not understand why they recommended such small enclosre for the 12" XXLS (62L) while if my underatnding is completely wrong, a Qtc= 0.7 should give a Box well over 100L...
