I just brought the plans, I havent decided what width to go for yet though..

I already have built the Fane 15" rear loaded scoop horn and that is a straight up monster!

I plan on putting them side by side once the tuba36 is built and going from there, it would be nice to have the experience gained by direct comparison

🙂 :smash:

What are the '36 owners opinions?

I should add i listen to Peak and RMS bass saturated music (drum n bass) so the sub has to be up to it! -which im sure it will be. but SPL bang for buck is what im after!

hey bro if im ever up in Auckland could I come hear it? Im building my own similar sized basshorn down here in dunedin soon

I listen to DNB also[counterstrike, infrared, spor etc]so realise the requirement.Currently I use a jbl2226 on 33hz tuned EBS enclosure.Extension down this low is important for the DNB. Im sure youl find the tuba has a good sound judging by the design and user reviews of the other tubas.

Cheers
😀

Hey Mike, yeah im sure we could arrange a visit.. 4x tech 12's and 8+ crates of nasty dnb are on hand for putting basshorns through their paces! (just got the new renegade hardware lp too 🙂 )

I think i saw your 2226 on trademe last week? i was considering bidding on it but would prefer a new one of my own.. where did you get it from originally?

Tony: no havent built it yet, one of these weekends comign up i'll take the time, I build all my cabinets with housed joints for exra strength and rigidty so it takes me a little longer to calculate it and router it out to get it completed. but its well worth the effort.

I'll post my thoughts on the comparision in this thread when the tuba36 is built. Quite frankly im very impressed with the fane rear loaded scoop so if the Tuba36 can out do it then i'll be.. well, doubly impressed.. 🙂

I got it from australia through a mate on msn who knows a guy in Oz who sells audio🙂

Nothing wrong with it,its just i want to build basshorns with car audio 12"s to compare.

I bought it because I didnt want to buy a Shiva and wonder what low distortion is like, and I only required extension to 32hz at the most.

For a new one youd be looking at $800+ shipping + middleman markup if there is one:xeye:

So youve seen my site then! Have you heard Dj fierce?
Cheers!

yes saw fierce at Fu a week or two ago now.. Ive been following dnb pretty closely for about 6 years now.. been posting on the grid for many years too if you know what that is?

at the moment the basshorn is running a pheonix gold xmax 15", it is the best sub ive ever heard in it although these shivas and 2226's seem to outspec it. I can only imagine what they must sound like?! -if you do come up to auckland bring your speaker with you  haha

Yeh im a relative newcomer to DNB but loving the mixes on doa😉

Never heard of the grid

Lol the baggage costs would be expensive. The output is pure and loud. Even using 6dB of eq at 35hz[plate amp standard]it achieves 114dB in room at several metres cant wait to horn it,lastnite started on cutsheet-2 sheets of MDF and counting :bawling:
