I told myself I wasn't going to buy it. No way! It didn't even have the power supply unit; a ghastly complicated device at that. So, I made a ridiculously low offer thinking I would be safe; and...he accepted it. Now I have a project.
But first, the seller seems to be legit and a trustworthy chap but how does one loose a power supply like this. He claims it was lost in a move. I'm thinking someone may have been robbed (wouldn't you?)!
Anyone loose their SA-5000? Show me a serial number, a receipt and we'll talk.
In the mean time, anyone have a spare PSU for me?
Ugh!

Maybe the best option is to flip it and try to recoup your costs. Or, maybe you could contact one of the service dealers for Counterpoint gear...they may have a spare? They are listed at Alta Vista Audio Home Page. Sadly it appears that Mike Elliott is no longer in business.
Patience is a virtue
I'm going to try being patient and see if one doesn't show up.
In the mean time, I have pretty much what I need to build one. I'm hoping Plitron might still have a transformer laying around and I can lift the PCB art for a Gerber from the SM. It's just such a BIG project!
