I'm trying to fix this microphone which has lost almost all output. I have checked for shorts and loose solder joints but found nothing wrong. Does anyone know what kind of microphone it is? Type, brand, model? Anything that could lead me to solving the problem would be much appreciated! 🙂

I'm not very experienced in microphones and have never heard about dual element microphones, but I will check tomorrow if there is a second element/membrane. 🙂
It is a dynamic microphone that was made in Austria, so AKG Dsomething indeed seems likely.
Mikaelea, don't get me wrong, but as you are not very experienced with microphones, how have you established that it has lost almost all output? I mean, when someone would compare a dynamic microphone with a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, he/she/it might conclude that the dynamic mike produces almost no output, while it is actually just working as it should.

Yes, it does look like the good old D12, the favorite kick drum mic. Maybe that's what I was thinking.
So D12s have a common problem where they lose all the lower midrange and bass.
The fix is complicated and fragile (about as close to open heart surgery as you can get for a mic), which is why I offer it as a service. Feel free to get in touch.

Thank you for your reply! Knowing the brand and model really helps me continue researching!
I might have been a bit vague about my experience. I have a lot of experience of mics as a performing musician and regarding music electronics I regularly repair amps, electric guitars and stompboxes. I'm just beginning to get in to microphone repairing and when I opened up this one that for certain has lost its output, I did not recognise the type of construction from other condensers and dynamics I have seen.
