Anyone know what these were?

Massive windtunnels with 16 TO-3's, look like from the 60's. Anyone know what they were?

Are you sure it's for audio? to me it seems more like a light dimmer or some kind of power supply regulator...

Or a massive PA amp? Has it any connectors?

No idea what it ws used for, got it from eBay for use on a massive amp. Right now these might go into a Krell KSA-50 clone.

Any ideas what the Thermal rating on these would be, I'd guess they can dissipate between 0.5kW to 1kW with a good fan.

They are a good 15lbs each or so. The connectors are on top via terminal strip. 2 large resistors mounted on the convection area. The metal cans are RCA types, all 4 quadrants are electrically Isolated. I am guessing one of these is good for a 150watt Class-A or 500 wpc class-AB amplifier.

And ofcourse could use some dipping into an industrial strength cleaner... they were probably stored for over 30 years without use.

Measure the heatsinks, use Rod Elliot's heatsink calculator or the more accurate one posted on DIYaudio and it gives you the rating without forced air.
With a regular vent used divide the number by 3, that should give you an close estimate on the heat resistance factor of the duct.

Resembles the original KSA50 tunnels, all right .
You could add solid copper plating.
My guess : somewhere around 0.10

Were there any other electronics around it ? Whats the numbers on the transistors ?

Nah just resistors. The TO-3's are:

BENDI
3772 (I guess 2n3772)

MOT
3789

BENDI
2015-3

RCA
3772

The only other thing apart from the TO-3's and resistors is a Thermal breaker.

The big resistors are labelled:

12.5X 0.3
3% WL50 PPM

There's a sticker thats says:

DWG. 62-21-6088 REV.0
E.C.O. Heatsink Assy

Thats it...
