WARNING: Tube/Valve amplifiers use potentially LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGES.
Building, troubleshooting and testing of these amplifiers should only be
performed by someone who is thoroughly familiar with
the safety precautions around high voltages.
Has anyone seen a 2A3 SS hybrid amp design anywhere? I know a 2A3 has alot of gain for a driver but I was hoping someone found a way around that. Or a 300B hybrid would work as well but I thought that even less likely.
The 2A3 has little voltage gain (μ = 4.2), but quite a bit of "grunt". IMO, there should be no problem in driving the capacitances of a power MOSFET. PSE SS "finals" might be feasible.
