I was looking at the datasheet for the TDA1545 chip but I couldn't figure it out very well. Perhaps some of you may know?
I wanted to know whether TDA1545's output ranges from 0 to +1ma, where 0 ma is the negative peak and 1ma is the positive peak, or does it sink current as well and actually has and output of -1 to +1 ma. I don't know if I've made myself clear but that is the only way I can think of to explain is. Please let me know if you guys have any clues. Thank you very much! 🙂

It is the zero to +1mA out current.
I think , there is no happyness with that DAC chip . The sound is poor. That chip is designed for low budget mobile audio systems , for CD-rom´s analog outputs ....
Better solution is now most diy used TDA1543A.

TDA1543 is designed for exactly the same purposes. However the TDA1545 has better specifications and some claim it sounds better than TDA1543...
The reason TDA1543 is mostly used by diyers is the fact it does not need an output stage while output voltage is high.
Also the phenomenon of sheep following other sheep might have something to to do with it 😉

Try working with the td1541a it's a layout nightmare!
tda1545 is ok but the datasheet is...

It is not the same as TDA1543.
1545 is Continuous calibration converter , it sounds poor.
1305 is better CC DAC.
