anyone in gta know their tubes?
I just bought a lot of like hundreds of tubes for tv/radio repair and have so far found a few gems that i would find useful but dont know how to use the tester that came with them or 99% of the tubes in the boxes..
was wondering if anyone in the mississauga (401/mavis) area would want to come down and show me the ropes in exhange for a tube or two that i probably wouldent use anyways.

What tube tester did you get? It should be compared to another to know it's working correctly.

its a "test master".. many many sockets.. heh.

I've only ever used on tube tester, but does yours have a lot of selector knobs? There should be a reference book in which you can look up the specific tube. It will then give you the socket to use, and all the settings. It will also tell you what readings are acceptable.
doesent have a tonn of knobs.. and i wish i did have the book because that would make sense..
i wasent able to find out much about the tester online.. only one google ebay reference and the auctions long taken off the records.

I think I know what tester you have, basically a "drug store" type tester. A million sockets and probably two knobs. There was usually a roll chart that listed to adjustmnets and socket number. There is a push to test button as well.

thats about it.. dont imagine theres a generic way of laying out the sockets to go by in case you loose the cross reference list for socket number to tube type ;/ ?
