Anyone Identify This PCB ? RF Amplifier?

.

.Hi all,

I got this pcb in a box of bits.

It looks like a 2 stage RF amplifier.

Transistors are BFW82

Can anyone confirm this?

Andy

Transistor types suggest it may be for HF. Input, output and interstage coupling cap values might give a clue. A few pF in value and its RF, a few hundred pF or nF and its not quite so much RF 😉

Yes definitely RF I have used that design and type of 1gHz transistors used in broadband .

It would --IMHO - be utter "madness " to try and use them or that circuit in audio .

But having seen first hand in websites like headfi my comments brought derision and ridicule among the many BJT "rollers " who take the view ---"if it amplifies it can be used in audio " ---not long after that I departed after not being happy about using variable mu tubes/valves being used by tube "rollers " .

I am just waiting for somebody here to say --oh ! I use those BJT,s every day in audio .
