Anyone here rewire a RB300?

Many reviews state the wiring of the RB300 is its weakness. It's the first tonearm I've had that doesn't have a connector in the post.
I measure 1-ohm on each lead of the left channel, and 1.6-ohm for each of the right channel wires. This seems weird to me and I'm curious if it's affecting performance. I use a low-output MC cartridge so a .6-ohm difference could affect the balance of a ctg whose output impedance is in that same range.

I think there is a balance to be had between leaving the old wiring there, and how good of a job you can do fitting new wiring. How you dress the new wiring through the post makes a difference to how "free" the arm moves in use. I think of that like having better quality bearings in the arm post.

I did more searching after I posted that. Turns out I don't have the original standard cable--I have a cable set from the RB1000...Klotz external cable, Neutrik RCAs.
I still don't think the resistance is right but now I know any sound improvement won't be cheap.
