i got everything i need for my first projector..just need to find an hqi setup..i want to retrofit my old ohp to start..thats why i want to find double ended hqi bulbs..
called one place that said they carried it but wont sell unless its a bulk order...
other place i went too cause they wouldnt qote me stuff over the phone is Eurolite on lower shurborne. I went in there and the guy told me that 400W was crazy i only would need 100W..then i told him about how this site and many others all say that 250W is too low and you need 400W ...he laughed and say it would be way too hot...i told he look how much would it be to order...he said for the bulb and ballast around $500..
so..anyone from Toronto have an idea as to where i can get this stuff???
thanks
PS i live near yorkdale and dont drive ...prefer someplace close..but im getting desperate to find this stuff...so anywhere would do really.

Hello!
I am in Mississauga but I got my light kit from US.
It was diyprojectorcompany.com double sided 250W kit.
I got it from someone that decided not to build.
Light kit and 135 mm long throw lense for 200 US$ so keep checking forums people are always selling stuff.
DIYPC is aquired by lumenlab ?! So you can forget them for a source...
As far I am concerned it is working great.
I am not sure how much more light 400W would give you.
While it is more light, arc is longer and everything that is
not coming from your focal point source is just problem.
I have one Bessler 18" lense, let me know if you are interested.
Cheers!
