"We are not worthy"
One of the guys in our choir commented this morning that hockey is the one egalitarian winter Olympic sport and we were all engaged in some good-hearted "bon homie". Yes, even here in NJ we gotta bunch of maple-leafsters. I loved seeing all the flags.
Congrats Cannucks

Aus got two golds and a silver. I hope you didn't miss that. Pretty good for a place with no real winter!
yep, they did better than us too... NZ attends to make up numbers and for participation points.

My apologies aardvarkash10 (may I call you aard?). I looked quickly at the flag in your avatar, not your location and thought that it was Australia.
Sorry
Matt
We'll all get it soon enough. I believe league play resumes on Tues.!Oh Nooooooo - only a few hours now and I'm Jones'n for a hockey fix!!!
Probably be some interesting conversations behind locker room doors, among team mates who were opponents during the games!

Lol - no problem - we are used to that from you yankees...
Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
When I was young and touring Europe, the standard trick if you were running wild was to tell everyone you were Australian - all us kiwi's did it. The Aussies copped the blame, and we still had the fun....
Congratulations to the Maple-leafers for this classic win!

That's ok - soundchaser is a Canuck - when they misbehave they tell everyone that they're a Yank When we Yank's don't want to be known as being from the US we say we are from Canada.
That wouldn't have been such an amazing battle if the US team wasn't so freakin good. Miller and Kesler especially, and I truly felt their pain at the medal ceremony.
Can't wait to get Kesler and Luongo on the same page again.
And of course I want all my hockey pool team guys back together earning me points again; Ovey, Gabby, Kovey, Hossey, and Pronger (Prongey?); and I may even give Brendon Morrow some ice time after he finally made a believer out of me. He's been on my bench for half the season (with Lecavalier).

Am I surprised? Not one bit

OMG, I left soon after the game to get involved with the goings on out in the streets and just got back now. What the hell happened? Where have I been for the last 12 hours? Oh man, I've got some explaining to do.

Get some rest Cal - I'm pretty sure that most of Canada will be sleeping it off today so there will be few around to explain things to. Unless it involves significant others that did not participate in the going-on's and are now busy with daily things - In that case - - - - Ya got sum splaining ta do (get flowers).
Hmmm - on second thought forget the explaining of things - more trouble digging that hole deeper. Just beg for mercy and be prepared to suffer for years to come......

In other (field) hockey news, New Zealand beat Canada 3-2
Nice going. Do you guys follow hockey? Up here, it doesn't get much notice.
Ice Hockey on the other hand...

Still curious if hockey (field) is a sport you guys pay attention to. My only complaint is the one sided stick.

In this part of the States we have several horses, cows, and other 'critters (all of which we either deep fry or BBQ) and use one sided sticks, twigs, scrappers, etc. to clean off our boots after the bull is finished chasing us around the field!! Thus the term "field hockey" has an entirely different meaning from what you chaps are discussing!!

Welcome to Hockey NZ
only if we beat someone. We are not bad losers - just infrequent winners.
Nashville brought home two medals in hockey, one silver and one gold.
