I have modified this to work as a stand alone MP3audio amp.
It uses the TDA8920B amp....simple to do.
Bypassing the receiver control circuit is the first trick.
Then enabling the amp is the second.
What a treat to get this to work as a stand alone 100W/channel amp.

Also this unit houses a +_- 30VDC power supply.
Controlling the mode pin on the TDA8920B and bypassing the transceiver control circuit was the cool trick.

just behind the audio jack is a blank spot for a switch. connect a wire between either of the 2 un used holes spaced vertically apart

shorting 3 and 5 or 4 and 6 will enable the audio port.
once you do this and feed it music, it will kick on and play.
This is how the fx80 works. Guts are otherwise the same sans the internal speakers.
