Okay I know many have talked about it, but has anyone actually build a rear projection LCD tv? I have recently been thinking of giving the idea a shot.
I thought about building one that would be in a basement coming up through the flood i never built it but.......Just a thought....Bob
I have build one but I could only get it up to 50" at small size. My prjector is 36in wide 60 in high and 24in in depth. I just but my small projector into a rear projection tv frame that I build it works great it's bright and veiwable during the day, the only problem is the way the screen look, the screen has to be eye level or the bottom or the top with be darker than the center, you would need a large fresnel lens the size of your screen to make it completely viewable. The projector I used was made from the Sony PSone LCD, a 42 watt(2700 lumen) compact flourescent light bulb and the figinon TV lense. For the frame I used this design from Draper Inc its the Draper Adjustable RPS(Rear Projection System) this is the easiest design to do but there are plenty more. www.draperinc.com
