I have to say I have never been a keen news hound but just lately it has been particularly irksome having to endure the interruptions to my favourite music radio channels and radio phone ins for the constant yap yap yap about either politics or bloody football. I am just not the least bit interested in what the rich psychos that run our lives say and even less interest in sports of any kind. And don't get me started on the commercials urging me to spend my last centime on some useless junk I don't need or an electric car I wouldn't be seen dead in. Which reminds me the ads on TV for life insurance and cheap funerals are a bit much. How do they expect us to react showing us retirement age folks with big grins banging on about how happy their bloodsucking offspring will enjoy the payout when they go belly up. I feel a growing loathing for advertising "creatives" that come up with this stuff.
Rant over.

It's the same news repeated every hour, throughout the day - in the past they told you what to think about (they'd give an unbiased account from both sides), but now they tell you how to think. I'd best not say anymore - rules are rules.
Well good for them. Did it ever stop raining? You're just sour that Ferrari won the Lemans 24h again!

I find some news topics upsetting, especially abundant in politics, but otherwise, no problem. Dump the constant coverage of politicians' wrongdoings, and I'm okay with newscasts from reputable news reporting organizations.
I cut the cord a while back and have never regretted it. I replaced traditional TV with podcasts and YouTube content that align more closely with my interests. TV shows and movies are easily streamed or downloaded, making for a seamless experience with a good internet connection. As for channels like CNN, I don’t think they deserve the time of day—they’re just manipulative nonsense, in my opinion.
Just my two cents!
Happy Father’s Day to all! 🥂

I avoid the news on TV like the plague, don't think I've seen it at all for 3 years, and not much before that. I sometimes try to listen to BBC radio 6 for new music, but I have to turn off for the news. A few people at work have no TV, and rely on YouTube/internet for news.
I gave up long ago. It’s not news anymore when the broadcasters clearly have political agenda to promote.
Investigate Pihole. It's an ad blocker that runs on a raspi that you set to be your DNS server and it refuses to fulfil connection requests for known ad sites. Been using it for a few years and it's remarkably effective. But Internet ads are a headache.
I also got rid of my television 15 years ago.
Add man made climate change to the list in post#1.
Is the bloody football a version where they have knife battles on the pitch.
They heavily censor all words relating to the celestial climate change that lead to the ice ages.
If anyone claims ice ages were ended by man made climate change I will ceaselessly demand to know where they got there time machine from.

Does it work under Android 10?Investigate Pihole. It's an ad blocker that runs on a raspi that you set to be your DNS server and it refuses to fulfil connection requests for known ad sites. Been using it for a few years and it's remarkably effective.
Thanks on your suggestion.
No. It's a custom image you copy to an SD card and use to boot the raspberry pi. You tell your router you want to use the Pihole as the DNS server and this lets the pi block ad serving addresses. Everything on your network gets ad blocking. There's nothing to install on your phone.Does it work under Android 10?
Sadly, there's no such thing as a portable version for when you're out and about...
Depressing times...Just try to realize the whole world is in struggles and its not just your local politicians being stupid, these are difficult times for most of us all over the world. Anger gets us nowhere. The scary part of getting rid of broadcast TV and only getting news from our favorite facebook/twitter/youtube channels is it becomes an echochamber because the algorithm getting you what you want or what upsets you... At least take the effort to check news from several different sources, best from news channels from different nations since so many are available in english also. Getting news the old way via news papers is the ultimate because there are no algorithms scanning you and giving you news modified from your reaction on the next page...
stopped watching the news on Croatian national television channels some 5-6 years ago. Too much militant nationalism, religious fundamentalism and aggressive conservatism.
After war in Ukraine started, I stopped to watch/follow all mainstream western media too, beacuse am sick of western self-righteousness and how they talk about bloody thing in cheerleading way, like its some kind of football game.
Speaking of which, I dont care much about current european football championship. Just an overrated and overpaid circus IMHO.
The only news I follow ocassionally are Al-Jazeera on Balkan-languages. And some non-mainstream internet news portals.

No more news of any kind. Not TV, not internet clickbait, not even the papers. I have a weather app, and that is important. Still have satellite TV, but 90% of the time it stays on Sirius XM channels 25 or 26. The rest of the time it’s movies we know the entire dialogue to or TV re-runs. CNN and all others avoided like the plague. Living in the past? You’re GD right. Ben Sisko would understand (It is not linear).
I stopped consuming all that negativity decades ago. The news is just full of drama and tears. I don't need that in my life.
Not fed up with the news, but the way it's presented. I prefer facts, what I get, increasingly, is speculation much of it unattributed, largely, unverifiable and when I do look back on it, wrong.
Often when sources are quoted they're from someone who was right about something 20 years ago and has been living off it ever since.
That and the fact that most news programmes seem to think they need to stuff their schedules with sport and light entertainment news. Also nothing is real until CELEBRITIES have spoken for or against it.
As you can see, I'm not a happy bunny.
