Thanks Chris. Going lower is not necessarily my goal. The bigger La Scala really is with regards to the driver I have 15pr400. I have BMS 18n850 Subs that can fill in the lows.
I am very happy as it is.... to be honest.... with my system. But I suppose it is more like a Cornwall than a La Scala at the moment with the open baffle 15pr400. The biggish subs do give it some scale it would not otherwise have.
Just want to experience a bass horn type sound...bigger sounding and more dynamic sound. I might still build the double 12 you linked to. Would be great to one day get rid of subs, plate amps and dsp. Just one SET amp to rule them all.

The flare frequencies are ~53 Hz (FH-1) and ~60 Hz (LSII). The actual F3s are in mid-50s and mid-60s respectively.
FH-1 is also a tad longer so the LF slope is less steep.

Another type of a quite compact bass horn is the EV Eliminator.
Or if you want to go 2x12" a Sentry IV (not as compact as an Eliminator though):

Peavy FH-1 I think I'll go for. Probably start next year.
Some additional pics for general undestanding and to help with assembly:
