A friend just gave me a functional Philips CD160 to tweak. It's from the UK, 240V/50Hz.

I suspect it is a simple matter to convert it to 120V, since the transformer has 6 terminals on the primary side, only 2 of which are used presently.

The problem is that there are multiple combinations of terminals that could possibly be used in 120V service (they read roughly half the DCR of the 240V terminals), and I was hoping somebody might have a service manual that gave some indication of the correct combination without my having to risk smoking some fuses or running things undervoltage. TIA.

Well, in case anybody else needs this info, it is 1 smoked fuse later and the answer is that you wire up the middle 2 terminals on the primary side.

Doing pretty good....CDP free + $2 AC cord $3 fuses gets me a CDM2/10 transport and 1541 DAC 🙂

Some of the segments on the 7 segment LED's are burned out...how do you figure out if they are common cathode or common anode in order to replace?

The connection you use on the bottom is probably wired to an adjacent connection.Cut this wire. Now you have two primary windings(on used, one unused)The second primary will have to be connected (well how do I phrase this) upside down.

Note:after you have found the wire and have cut it,please measure.Just to be sure.
