Curious how they sound. I've been thinking of making some (actually 16, eight per side) turning them on their side so that the eight drivers are in a sort of line array and the horn mouths are beside the drivers horizontally. I'd have the drivers share the same airspace, so they wouldn't be seperate enclosures. Just one big horn/line array thing. Think it'd suck or be alright? I'd use damar varnish on the drivers, damp the baskets, and possibly do the dustcap mod. If anyone has a better suggestion for using these let me know, but I would like to use them in an array of some sort.

Forgot to mention using el-cheapo 40-1197's

(Note: this is really an offshoot of this earlier thread)
I built some BK101s for my lab speakers. I quite like them, but haven't done any real critical listing. We had to add a spacer to allow the deeper magnet of the FE103A.
As to scaling a horn -- that is tricky. But i welcome you to try. You will probably get better base by making a relex box. Martin King suggested a box with internal 6x8x14 and a 2x3 port.
And with a line array it will only go so far before you really need to cross to an array of tweeters. Here is a post in another thread with 2 useful Line Array papers.
I am interested to see how you progress on this since i am sitting on a similar number of 1197s.

Thanks for the links Dave, I did a search for EBK101 and didn't find anything. I figured it was a little different than the last thread so better to start over than ask about horns at the bottom of the other thread.
Thanks.
Thanks.
