I've been using steel friction top tin cans for ages, often wrapped with gaffer tape and/or lined with scraps of rubber backed carpet. I'd be happy to use terracotta flower pots if they weren't so so damned fragile here in the sizes I need/like
Scrap empty paint buckets might work, if wrapped on the outside with insulating material like foam or felt.

Yep. Paint cans are friction top tins, and maybe they would work best if any paint left inside them was old dry and hard.
Milo tins are in several sizes ~1 litre and ~3litres or so in volume

Sticker glue (lamination film glue used in printing shops) works to stick plastic foam / car carpet backing to plastic paint pails.
Can use hot glue gun for partial coverage, less messy, easier to obtain than the lamination glue (usual pack starts at 20 liters, half liter is rare).
Similar plastic containers, lined on the driver side with suitable material, will work.
An outer side coating may also work, ringing may occur.

Hi Naresh Here in Oz paint tins are almost always steel, if plastic we Aussies tend to call them buckets. Very different characteristics, volume would be about all they have in common
