Any way to recover the SSE bypass switch with a snubber?

Since George passed on the news to loose the bypass switch on th SSE I've been wondering if an RC Snubber across the switch might correct the issue.
I was thnking of something like this:

with the correct resistor might do the trick.

I keep calling it a bypass (not) . I mean the stand-by switch.
