any value for a fried 12" Shiva sub?

I believed either dc or oscillations entered the Shiva about a year ago, and I recalled smelling something really bad. The cone is now pretty stiff and obviously the sub is fried.

I am just wondering if there is any value for this sub, or if anyone wants it? Seem like a waste to throw it out.

definately a recone, Id say another driver is value.

cut off the voice coil and add mass as required... it's an identical-appearing passive radiator.

Usually, Adire answers fast.

Even Dan Wiggins from Adire was here on the forum like yesterday or so.

Don't sell that for 5$.

If you do that, I'll buy it and email Adire for a recone.

I don't think they recone Tempests and Shivas. However I think they can give you a better deal on a new one.

I have a dead Tempest paperweight in my basement right now. I wanna disect it somehow to use as a speaker model thing. So I can look at the actual parts while reading the Loudspeaker Cookbook 😀
